The creative design minds over at Tunnel Bravo, a Mesa, Arizona-based ad agency have been churning out performance posters for the East Valley Children’s Theater for a number of years now, and I continue to instantly love the simplicity to each of the poster’s concepts, the minimalistic approach to their layouts, and the gorgeous, rich color palettes for these series. Having classic children’s tales as the subject matter, these posters lend themselves to a great.. || Continue Reading →

I am sure these have been around the internet block a few times as this particular campaign is a few years old now, but I came across this series of promotional posters for Disneyland’s Star Wars Weekends that they have for about a month long every year to kick off the summer.  What I love about this particular series more than others, is that Disneyland’s in-house Creative Department, Yellow Shoes Creative, decided to play off off the imagination of the fans.  Their.. || Continue Reading →

Josh Clayton and Todd Metheny recently contracted Design 7 Studio to develop their logo and branding for their new endeavor, Passerby.  The company’s main focus is connecting investors with independent film projects that is based on a crowd-funding model. The logo was inspired by the literal definition of the name, but in the context of the individual pausing mid-stride because of what they are passing by warrants notice and peaks their interest. The logo stresses an certain.. || Continue Reading →

Something happened to me on the way to the year 1994.  I disappointedly found almost no movie posters that I thought to be worth really drawing attention to for their stellar graphic design.  It’s like all of the design houses that were producing movie posters all decided to take a creative break for the year. The reality is that there were only two that I felt were worth blogging about here, and in this case not because of design execution, but a creative concept and.. || Continue Reading →

If you have been following my blog series on movie posters, than you know that it has been a while, so I thought I would revisit the subject matter and pick things up where I left off.  Namely… 1993. Funny to think that was almost 20 years ago and where things have gone regarding design principles. 1993 didn’t have too bad of a crop of posters, with a just a few that are worth mentioning that push the envelope just a bit more with regards to visual direction, concept,.. || Continue Reading →

I am a casual gamer. While I love games and have a few different gaming consoles, I don’t have tons of time to game.  I am a creative first, a gamer second. Which probably why I get mesmerized when I discover a game that has so much production value into it from a creative side that I am left in awe.  The game Ico did it for me.  So did Machinarium.  Games that are so well designed from the levels, to the menus, to the sound.  The game oozes quality. Needless to say,.. || Continue Reading →

Prior to the recent holiday, comedian-juggler Tyler Linkin from Los Angeles contacted Design 7 Studio to work on creating a more cohesive brand and a new fresh website to go with it. Wanting a fresh, playful approach, with a hint of quirkiness, the concept was to create a logotype for Tyler that conveyed what he does and a bit of the flavor of his show – one that mixes situational humor, audience participation, and great juggling skills, all while wearing a sharp, crisp.. || Continue Reading →

I don’t often get on a political soapbox, but when I feel so strongly about something, sometimes I can’t just stay quiet. While Ron Paul has been in the political arena for years now and has run for the Presidential Office several times now, I have never really given him much thought. Until a friend asked me to simply view a video of his approach and thoughts on the affairs of the military, the role of government, and other pressing matters our nation faces.  What.. || Continue Reading →
