Alphabet Skin

Okay, let me start by saying that I am not a masochist, nor do I endorse this certain.. um… technique. I ran across this unusual gallery of images where the alphabet is displayed on individual’s skin by the use of clothespins in series called “Alfabet in Huid” by photographer Arjan Benning. There is only one reason I would desire to be pulled over on the freeway… to get a closer look. Only in Italy. Looks like the Italian police can patrol in style and speed. The new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia, in use by the Italian police force since 2004, has a 560 horsepower engine that can reach speeds of up to 203 mph. Dang. I am not the first to post these images on the Net, but I couldn’t help but post them here. I will let the photos speak for themselves, but let’s just clarify that the Imperial Stormtroopers is shown driving by in a Lotus Exige, and Lord Vadar himself is cruising in style in a black Ariel Atom – both vehicles very befitting to their drivers. This is NOT a Photoshop hoax. And no, this is not a twist on one of my favorite dishes – Coconut Shrimp. This bizarre creature is called a coconut crab and it is native to Guam and other Pacific Rim islands. It gets it’s name from its ability to split coconuts with one swipe of its claws. Thankfully, they are pretty slow on the ground, so they don’t really pose a threat to humans. (initial link)

I recently came across a really good photographer by the name of Steve Schofield from the United Kingdom. One of his portfolio series is titled the “Land of the Free”, and tailors to American culture, particularly in the area of fandom. The reason it took my fancy so much was the subject matter of a part of his photo-series. Die-hard Star Wars fans, in their homes, dressed as their favorite characters.
