You’ve heard of Man Vs. Wild, but this is my assemblage of Wild vs. Wild. There is nothing like seeing a moment captured through a camera lens that showcases the sheer awesome power of the beasts of the wild doing battle. Whether it is for territorial rights, claim over food, or to dominate their kind, these photos really create stunning images of nature. And lastly, the most amazing battle of them all. We all know that dogs “claim” to rule over.. || Continue Reading →

If you were one of the first 20,000 to enter Dodger Stadium yesterday, June 4th 2010, as they celebrated the 70′s, you would have been handed a limited edition “Dyn-o-mite” poster. The retro-looking, Starsky and Hutch-inspired poster featured Dodger first-baseman James Loney and third-baseman Casey Blake. Dodgers’ team photographer Jon SooHoo managed the photoshoot of the two as they hammed it up for the lens. I love the fact that this poster is made.. || Continue Reading →

Creative artist Julia Icenogle can best be known for her charming and quirky illustrations. But her creativity doesn’t just lie with her skills with pencil and inks. I recently stumbled upon Julia’s website portfolio and came across her section of photography. What I found in one particular series titled “Lauren the Tyrant” was a brillance in the use of light and shadow to portray the charm of a child’s mind at play. What do you get when cross.. || Continue Reading →
Let me clarify. I am all about facial hair. While I have been known to wear a pretty consistant soul patch for the last 5 or 6 years, I have always strayed from the beard or mustache. Not because I am one of those guys that can’t accomplish these manly items, but I choose not to because I have a higher calling in life: to receive an abundance of love and kisses from my beautiful wife, who rightfully so, would rather not get lost in a face-ful of hair to get to my supple.. || Continue Reading →
I love lists and I love editorial photographs. If you have ever picked up a LIFE Magazine “The Year Was…” coffee table books you would know what I mean. There is something about great editorial photographs that capture the moment, a feeling, the human condition and can tell the whole story or just enough that you crave to know the rest. As usual, Time has unveiled what it considers to be the Top Ten Photographs of 2009. In summary, I would have to agree. #1:.. || Continue Reading →
As you saw from my previous post, I entered 5 entries into Veer’s contest of having to re-create their logo without using a computer (no digital manipulation). The winner turned out to be J.D. Busche from Texas and in my opinion blew the competition out of the water. His entry outshined in creativity that of my entries and the other 1,000+ entries in this national competition. Below is the winning photo… Now if you are still thinking, what is the big deal, or what.. || Continue Reading →

I know, I know… this is so wrong, but this was too hilarious to pass on when it was forwarded to me from a friend. Confucious say, “If you can’t find the book you’re looking for, you’re probably in the…”
Unless you have lived the last few years in a cave, this won’t be the first time you’ll have seen something LIKE this before. If you are like me, you will have received one of the many little forwarded emails from a family-member or friend that has been forwarded onto them, and so on. Among the slew of cute kittens and funny animal photos with human-like captions added to them, there are a bunch of images being tossed around that have to do with 3D Street Painting. This.. || Continue Reading →

Some people will go to great lengths to pursue the art of typography and see the alphabet in the world around them. Rhett Dashwood is one of those individuals. Rhett recently went to great lengths, to the tune of MONTHS, searching mile by mile on Google Maps throughout Victoria, Australia in search of unique letter forms that would comprise his aerial alphabet. While you may question the extremity of his determination (and that he may have TOO much time on his hand), you have.. || Continue Reading →

I came across this image on Neatorama the other day that I had to share. Though the photographer/artist is not could not be found, I wanted to post it anyways. This alphabet is comprised of photos taken in urban areas that have tall buildings. All shots are from the vantage point of looking up. The reason I chose to share this is it confirms that designers, photographers, artists, and other creatives just plain look at the world around them through a different set of eyes.
