I think that as Christians we tend to believe that if we are really nice people and always happy, that people will know that we are Christians and will want to pursue a relationship with Christ.   However, that is just not true. I know quite a number of the nicest people I know and they do not have a relationship with Jesus.  In fact, they are nicer than quite a number of Christians that I know. However, if you really want to know how the world is to know who it is that is truly.. || Continue Reading →

While I love promoting my own work, I also like to pass on to others what inspires me as a designer, and that includes exalting the great work of others that I come across. I found this logo on a designer’s gallery site and instantly loved it.  The simplicity, which is so crucial in logo design, is found in not only the rendering, but in the creative solution of utilizing the positive and negative space of the two bottles.  Add the clever use of orange triangles and you.. || Continue Reading →

“Endurance” Triathlon T-shirt

Design 7 Studio was recently asked by a Florida-based company called Track The Trail to design a debut t-shirt for their upcoming line of t-shirts geared towards triathletes.  Track The Trail basically sells GPS systems for use by triathletes, marathon runners, and endurance athletes when they are out on the road or trail.  The GPS systems can be used either by them or their families as many times runners can be out training for hours on end. This initial design was to be created.. || Continue Reading →

If you have ever come across the term “mashup” it refers to the DJ trend that has come around in the last few years.  It is the musical art of taking two or three songs and mixing them together (or “mashing” them together).  The result is a new song that can be considered a fantastic remix of an old one.  Just google “mashups” and you will find a slew of links to various indie DJ’s website where you can download these tracks. A new.. || Continue Reading →

One of the things I love about designing logos is the ability to take an existing logo and give it an extreme home-makeover. To find the areas where the logo is falling short of its objectives and then finding ways to better showcase or visually communicate what that company is all about. I love the process, I love doing it, and I also love seeing how others do it. When recently shopping for a new knife sharpener, I happened upon Chicago Cutlery. I was immediately taken back.. || Continue Reading →

Break out the Elvis wig, the pimp glasses, and your best Rat-Pack getup! The annual fundraiser known as Midsummer Magic is back and it will be quite a party. Midsummer Magic is the annual platform to raise money for the Paso Robles Library Foundation. As part of a sponsorship arrangement, Design 7 Studio was put to the challenge of coming up with this year’s event logo, website and the rest of the materials from posters and refrigerator magnets, to t-shirts and print.. || Continue Reading →

When it comes to gaming, I like a good plethora of variety in the types of games that I personally gravitate to.  Whether it is a good Team Deathmatch in Modern Warfare 2, or more obscure gems that have artistic flare and varying strategy like Ico, I am more impressed by games that require my brain cells, not just a bunch of button-mashing. Call me a lover of the classics.  I am referring to the real beginnings of computer gaming.  The point-and-click adventure.  Whether.. || Continue Reading →

Creative artist Julia Icenogle can best be known for her charming and quirky illustrations.  But her creativity doesn’t just lie with her skills with pencil and inks. I recently stumbled upon Julia’s website portfolio and came across her section of photography.  What I found in one particular series titled “Lauren the Tyrant” was a brillance in the use of light and shadow to portray the charm of a child’s mind at play.  What do you get when cross.. || Continue Reading →

Let me clarify.  I am all about facial hair.  While I have been known to wear a pretty consistant soul patch for the last 5 or 6 years, I have always strayed from the beard or mustache. Not because I am one of those guys that can’t accomplish these manly items, but I choose not to because I have a higher calling in life:  to receive an abundance of love and kisses from my beautiful wife, who rightfully so, would rather not get lost in a face-ful of hair to get to my supple.. || Continue Reading →
